Living this Life for the Lord

Our heavenly Father graciously supplies our daily needs. We are taught plainly that we should be content with food and raiment. We are to be thankful for the blessings of God and to share from our abundance. The Lord knows how to separate our wants from our needs much more than we do. Our flesh wants it all, our spirit is content with food, clothing, and shelter. Somewhere between the murmuring and the contentment is where we find ourselves. If we truly love God’s word and have the faith of a believing Saint, we will live this life for the Lord.

We are equipped with sound doctrine and the promises of eternal life from the God who cannot lie. Jesus taught well of his return and of his future kingdom. We are told to take heed, and to look for his redemption. Christ said that if we allow the cares of this life to overcome us, his return may come upon us unaware. Pause: Ask yourself. Am I really looking for the Lord’s return? Am I ready to meet my Saviour today? Both of these questions should be a resounding yes. If this is not so for you today, call out to the Lord and tell him that you desire to be able to answer both of these questions with a “yes”. God loves you and can heal you immediately of any spiritual sickness. Being in God’s will equates to living your life for the Lord.

Do we struggle? Yes, of course we do. Our flesh is weak, and the accuser is on the attack. The devil has more tools than just sex, drugs, and rock n roll. He uses slothfulness, false religion, coveting, envy, jealousy, and many more ways to trip you up. The cares of this life just play into his trap. To busy for Jesus is just plain old to busy. Satan comes to destroy. You and your family are his target. He is powerful, known also as the prince of the power of the air. Ephesians 4:27 tells us to give no place to the devil. In other words, keep him out of your temple. How can you fight the devil? You can’t, not in your own strength. James 4:7: Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Submit to God, and resist the devil. That is how you live this life for the Lord.

You are never stronger than when you humble yourself before God. Down on your knees is where you’ll find great strength. Being faithful in prayer will keep you abiding in the vine. In Christ, your body becomes the temple of the Holy Ghost. God indwells you. If he be for you, what can anyone or anything do against you? We know that grieving the Holy Spirit can weaken our walk. So common spiritual sense would dictate that trusting in the Lord with all of your heart is where your strength would come from. Take these great truths to heart and rejoice in hope. Then you will be able to live this life for the Lord.

Hebrews 13:20-21: Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Lord, help us to live this life for you.
